Company Information
InstaForex was launched in 2007, and its international operations fall under the purview of InstaFinance Ltd, an entity registered with and licensed by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI FSC). The group offers retail leveraged trading alongside copy trading, PAMM accounts, market research, and partnership programs. In Europe, the InstaForex brand is under the control of Instant Trading EU Ltd, a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) that operates in compliance with the licensing requirements of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
Here is a full overview of the entities responsible for InstaForex’s conduct at the time of writing:
- InstaFinance Ltd, an international investment services entity regulated by the BVI FSC under license SIBA/L/14/1082, with registration number 1811672 and registered address at 4th Floor, Water’s Edge Building, Meridian Plaza, Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Over more than 15 years of operation, the company has earned a range of accolades. One of its most recent achievements was the Silver Laurel award granted at the Invest Cuffs conference, which was held in 2025. Also in 2025, the broker earned the Lowest Spreads Broker of the Year award at the annual Forex Expo Dubai.
We should also note that InstaForex is known for its sports sponsorships and has been an official sponsor of clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Palermo, and Liverpool. Current sponsorships and partnerships include, but are not limited to, the Dragon Racing Formula E team, the InstaForex Loprais rally-raid racing team, which it has sponsored since 2011, and the Slovak ice hockey club HKM Zvolen.
As for its regulatory conduct, Instant Trading EU Ltd has faced scrutiny in the past. In 2018, CySEC fined the company €90,000 for breaches of Cyprus’s leverage and negative balance protection regulations and another €40,000 for failing to determine a client’s trading credentials and CFD knowledge. The issue was resolved without the revocation of Instant Trading EU Ltd’s CySEC license, as the regulator considered mitigating factors, including the fact that this was the company’s first regulatory transgression and its prompt remediation of the issues that led to the fine.

Regulation
InstaForex operates under the oversight of two regulatory bodies, the first of which is the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI FSC). The BVI FSC regulates InstaForex’s offshore entity, InstaFinance Ltd, which holds an SIBA/L/14/1082 license and caters to clients outside the US and other restricted regions. This entity advertises leverage ranging from 1:1 to 1:5000 for all accounts.
Instant Trading EU Ltd is a Cyprus investment firm authorized by CySEC under license 266/15. It operates within the European Union’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) framework and must apply conduct-of-business, capital, reporting, and client-asset rules. Retail clients qualify for negative balance protection and the Investor Compensation Fund, which offers a maximum eligible claim of €20,000 if InstaForex becomes insolvent. Additionally, they can escalate unresolved complaints to the Cyprus Financial Ombudsman.
| Region | Entity | Authority | License | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| British Virgin Islands | InstaFinance Ltd | British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission | SIBA/L/14/1082 | |
| EU | Instant Trading EU Ltd | Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) | CySEC License No. 266/15 | |
European retail leverage is restricted under the product-intervention framework. Maximum leverage is subject to the following limits:
- 1:30: major currency pairs
- 1:20: non-major currency pairs, gold, and major equity indices
- 1:10: commodities, excluding gold, and non-major indices
- 1:5: individual equity CFDs
- 1:2: cryptocurrency CFDs
Clients seeking higher leverage ratios at the EU/EEA branch can gain access to leverage of up to 1:500 on FX pairs by opening a professional account. Eligibility requires meeting two of the following criteria:
- Proof of having completed at least 10 significantly sized CFD trades per quarter over the past four quarters
- One year or more of professional experience in the financial sector
- A financial portfolio of at least €500,000
Both the offshore entity and the European subsidiary segregate client money from company funds. However, negative balance protection is exclusive to retail clients registered with InstaForex’s CySEC-regulated branch. Professional European traders and clients of the offshore brokerage do not qualify for this safeguard. Europe-based professionals also lose access to the EU-specific Investor Compensation Fund (ICF) upon gaining professional status.
KYC / Account Opening
InstaForex has streamlined its registration process, and based on our testing, it takes less than five minutes to create a live trading account at the offshore branch. Below, we provide an overview of the steps required to open an InstaForex account. We cover both the initial registration process and identity verification.
- Platform Selection: Choose between MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
- Personal Information and Contact Details: Enter your full name, email address, and phone number. Then, select your country of residence.
- Account Specifications: Choose your account’s base currency (USD, Cent USD, EUR, RUB, or Cent RUB) and account type.
- Email Verification: Enter the verification code InstaForex sent to your email address.
- Client Area: Access the Client Area by following the provided link. Although you will also be given the option to visit the deposit page, you will not be able to fund your account until you complete the full onboarding process.
- Log In: Check your email for the account number and password sent by InstaForex, and use these credentials to log in to your account. You will be greeted by a message clarifying that your account still has limited functionality. To unlock all features, visit the Personal Information section.
- Profile Form: Enter your date of birth and address information, then clarify whether you are a politically exposed person.
Once you have completed the above steps, you will be able to deposit funds into your account or open a demo account if you would like to practice before trading through your live account. However, the maximum deposit limit will be set at $2,000 until you verify your identity. To unlock higher deposit limits and withdrawals, you will need to submit the following documents:
- Proof of Identity: a passport, voter’s card, national identity card, or driver’s license
- Proof of Address: a utility bill, such as an electricity, gas, water, sewage, landline telephone, or fixed broadband internet bill; a bank or credit card statement; a reference letter from a bank; an official residency certificate; or a local authority tax bill
We should note that the order of the steps is slightly different at the EU/EEA subsidiary. Once you verify your email and enter your personal information, you will be asked to complete an investor profile covering your employment details, an economic profile covering financial circumstances such as your net worth and source of funds, and a questionnaire designed to assess your knowledge and practical experience in derivatives trading. You will then be required to undergo identity and address verification. Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to open a live trading account and make a deposit.
Regardless of which entity you register with, you will also be allowed to open a demo account. This is a suitable option for novice traders or those who simply want to familiarize themselves with a broker before depositing and trading with real funds.
Account Types
The international website publishes a total of five retail account formats. The two principal pricing models offer commission-free trading with fixed spreads and commission-based pricing with raw spreads.
- Insta.Standard: A low-entry account with a minimum deposit of $1 and fixed spreads from 0.60 pips. No separate forex dealing commission is listed for this account model, and the minimum trade size is 0.01 lots.
- Insta.Pro: Another spread-only account. It requires an initial deposit of $100 and offers spreads from 0.40 pips.
- Insta.Zero: This zero-spread account has a minimum deposit of $100, floating spreads from 0.00 pips, and a commission from $0.50 per trade involving 10,000 base currency units.
- Insta.Raw: This account offers raw pricing with variable spreads from 0.00 pips and a fixed round-turn commission of $0.50 per 10,000 currency units.
- Insta.Cent: A cent-denominated account with a minimum deposit of $1, spreads from 0.60 pips, and a minimum trade volume of 0.1 lots.
Zero-Commission Accounts
There are two account types suitable for traders who prefer a simple cost structure where the trading costs are fully incorporated into the bid-ask spread. The first one is Insta.Standard, which offers fixed spreads of at least 0.60 pips on FX majors. Generally, major pairs have spreads of under 1.00 pip, with examples being EUR/USD (0.60 pips), GBP/USD (0.80 pips), and AUD/USD (0.70 pips). If you are interested in opening such an account, you would need to deposit a mere $1.
The other zero-commission option is Insta.Pro. It comes with a slightly lower spread minimum of 0.40 pips, but account opening requires a deposit of at least $100.
Both accounts are suitable for MT4 and MT5 users, and the available leverage ratios extend to 1:5000. The margin call level is 30%, while stop-out is triggered when the margin level drops to 10%.
Commission-Based Accounts
Insta.Raw and Insta.Zero offer a zero-spread structure with ECN-style raw pricing. The spreads of Insta.Raw accounts are sourced directly from liquidity providers. Both accounts advertise spreads from 0.00 pips. A round-turn commission of $0.5 is charged per 10,000 currency units. This translates to $0.5 per one standard lot, as InstaForex uses unique position sizing denominations where trading a position with 100,000 base currency units translates to ten standard InstaForex lots. The $0.5 commission is only fixed if you use the Insta.Raw account.
These account types may appeal to traders who are interested in scalping and other day trading strategies. To use an Insta.Raw or Insta.Zero account, a given user must meet the minimum deposit threshold of $100.
There are three base currencies to pick from (USD, EUR, RUB), MT4 and MT5 are the available platform options, and the minimum trade volume is 0.01 lots (equivalent to 100 currency units at InstaForex). Margin call and stop-out levels stand at 30% and 10%, respectively, while the maximum available leverage is 1:5000.
The above accounts are offered to international traders registered with the BVI entity. The broker’s European branch offers different retail account types with significantly different conditions. All of them feature the ECN execution model, support EUR, USD, CZK, and PLN as account currencies, and have a leverage cap of 1:30. MT4 ECN accounts have a roster of 260+ instruments, while the symbol selection of MT5 accounts ranges from 120 for ECN Mini to 2,500+ for ECN, ECN Pro, and ECN VIP.
Another notable difference is the required initial deposit. ECN (MT4) and ECN Mini (MT5) have the lowest minimum deposit requirement of €200, whereas ECN VIP (MT5) has a substantial €50,000 requirement. Here is a full summary of the minimum deposit thresholds for European clients:
- ECN (MT4): €200
- ECN Pro (MT4): €2,000
- ECN VIP (MT4): €10,000
- ECN Mini (MT5): €200
- ECN (MT5): €1,000
- ECN Pro (MT5): €10,000
- ECN VIP (MT5): €50,000
Insta.Cent
Insta.Cent, also referred to as Cent.Standard, denominates balances in cents and allows smaller effective positions. This account type follows the Insta.Standard pricing approach by offering spreads from 0.60 pips without an added commission. The minimum deposit is $1, and as with the other account types, the maximum available leverage ratio is 1:5000.
Beyond its cent denomination, the account also differs in terms of the lowest permitted trade volume. While most account types support micro lots, the minimum trade volume here is 0.1 lots, equivalent to 1,000 base currency units at InstaForex.
Islamic Account
CFD traders who plan to keep their positions open across multiple trading sessions are typically required to either pay or receive interest. Known as swap rates, these fees are charged or credited according to the interest-rate differential between the currencies tied to a given forex pair.
However, this presents an issue for Muslim traders, as swap fees are considered haram and do not align with Sharia principles. To accommodate these traders, InstaForex provides an Islamic account. When a trader holds a position across multiple trading sessions, this account type does not charge swap fees for the first seven days. The broker does not replace swaps with fixed administration fees. Instead, it begins applying swap rates once the seven-day grace period has ended.
An Islamic account can be opened by going to Account Settings and navigating to the Personal Information section. The broker does not request proof of faith to open this account type, nor are you required to reside in a specific country to be eligible.
Demo Account
At InstaForex, traders can open a free demo account for practice and strategy testing. The account’s symbol range encompasses 300 instruments that can be traded on the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms. USD is the only supported base currency for demo trading, and users can fund the account with up to $50,000 in virtual funds. Traders should keep in mind that if they do not use this account for one month, it will be closed automatically.
Professional Account
This account type is exclusive to the Cyprus-based entity. As established, Instant Trading EU Ltd adheres to CySEC and ESMA regulatory requirements concerning leverage and limits retail leverage to 1:30.
However, this leverage limit may not be sufficient for some high-volume traders with extensive experience in derivatives trading. Such clients can gain access to significantly higher leverage limits by obtaining professional-trader classification. The exact available leverage depends on the instrument and the user’s account balance:
| Asset Class | Deposit of up to €100,000 | Deposit of over €100,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Forex | 1:500 | 1:300 |
| Indices | 1:100 | 1:100 |
| Gold | 1:100 | 1:100 |
| Commodities | 1:20 | 1:20 |
| Stocks | 1:20 | 1:20 |
| ETFs & SPACs | 1:20 | 1:20 |
| Cryptocurrencies | 1:5 | 1:5 |
You only need to meet two of the following requirements to qualify for a professional account:
- Trading Volume: At least 10 significantly sized CFD trades per quarter over the previous four quarters
- Professional Qualifications: At least one year of professional experience in the financial industry
- Portfolio: A portfolio of over €500,000
Keep in mind that as a professional trader, you will forfeit some of the safeguards available to retail clients. Namely, you will no longer be eligible for negative balance protection or compensation under the ICF.
PAMM Account
InstaForex’s Percentage Allocation Management Module (PAMM) service enables individuals to access the financial markets without directly executing trades themselves. Skilled managers, meanwhile, can earn additional income by managing pooled capital.
Gains and losses are distributed proportionally according to each participant’s share of the combined balance. Account managers receive compensation through a predetermined performance fee calculated as a percentage of the profits generated.
While managers retain the authority to place market orders, they are strictly prohibited from withdrawing funds directly from client balances. Investors retain control over their funds and can deposit capital, collect returns, or withdraw their balances at any time.
ForexCopy
Traders who are not interested in PAMM accounts but still wish to generate passive income can use InstaForex’s ForexCopy service. Its core functionality centers on automatically mirroring trade orders from experienced signal providers. The service is accessible, as it requires a low minimum deposit of $10. In terms of costs, copiers pay performance fees to signal providers when their trades are successful.
The service may also appeal to strategy providers, as copy trading can serve as an additional source of income. Moreover, InstaForex does not impose a limit on the number of traders who can follow a provider’s account, nor is there a cap on potential profits.
Trading Fees and Other Costs
As costs play a fundamental role in determining whether trading will be profitable, traders must understand the fees they may be charged while using a broker. At InstaForex, there are two main fee categories:
- Trading Fees: These include spreads, commissions, and overnight fees.
- Non-Trading Costs: These include deposit and withdrawal fees, account fees, inactivity fees, and conversion fees.
| Costs / Fees | What Is This? | At InstaForex |
|---|---|---|
| Spread | The difference between the bid and ask prices. The wider the gap between the two prices, the higher the trading costs you will incur. | BVI License:
CySEC License: Floating EUR/USD spreads of 0.50 pips (ECN MT4), 0.20 pips (ECN Pro MT4), 0.10 pips (ECN VIP MT4), and 0.00 pips (MT5 accounts) |
| Commission | A separate transaction fee charged in addition to the spread. | BVI License: From $0.50 (Insta.Zero and Insta.Raw) CySEC License: From $1.50 (ECN VIP MT5) to $3.50 (ECN Mini) |
| Swap | A financing adjustment for positions held past rollover. | Instrument- and direction-specific rates are shown on the contract specifications page. Triple swaps are charged on Wednesdays. |
| NON-TRADING FEES | ||
| Deposit Fees | Fees charged by the broker for funding your account. | None at InstaForex. (See more in Deposit Methods below.) |
| Withdrawal Fees | Fees charged by the broker for withdrawing money from your account. | Withdrawals carry fees at InstaForex. (See Withdrawal Methods below.) |
| Inactivity Fees | Fees charged on dormant trading accounts. | $10 per month after three months of inactivity. |
Spreads
InstaForex offers a variety of pricing models that depend on the account type. Insta.Standard accounts, for example, offer fixed spreads on major pairs, with the EUR/USD spread starting at 0.60 pips. Commission-based accounts offer even lower spreads from 0.00 pips in exchange for a $0.50 round-turn commission per 10,000 units of the base currency, or $5 per 100,000 currency units.
The following major FX spreads can be found on InstaForex’s global website:
| Instrument | Insta.Standard | Insta.Pro | Insta.Zero | Insta.Raw | Cent.Standard |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | 0.60 pips | 0.40 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.40 pips |
| GBP/USD | 0.80 pips | 0.70 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.20 pips | 0.70 pips |
| USD/JPY | 0.70 pips | 0.60 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.10 pips | 0.60 pips |
| USD/CHF | 1.00 pips | 1.00 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.30 pips | 0.10 pips |
| AUD/USD | 0.70 pips | 0.50 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.50 pips |
| USD/CAD | 0.80 pips | 0.60 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.20 pips | 0.60 pips |
| NZD/USD | 0.60 pips | 0.50 pips | 0.00 pips | 0.10 pips | 0.50 pips |
The costs at the EU branch are relatively similar, with major pairs having spreads of 1.00 pip or less on spread-only accounts and lower spreads on raw-pricing accounts.
To understand the overall cost of trading a given forex pair, we need to examine both the spread and the commission a client may be charged. To demonstrate the importance of commissions and how they affect pricing, we will compare the BVI-based entity’s Insta.Standard and Insta.Raw accounts.
InstaForex’s standard lots differ from those of most conventional brokers, as one standard InstaForex lot equals 10,000 currency units. Thus, in this case, a one-pip price change would equal $1. Note that if you wish to trade 100,000 currency units, you would need to open a 10-lot position.
Insta.Standard:
- Spread per lot: 0.60 pips
- TOTAL COST (1 lot): 0.60 x $1 = $0.60 per side and $1.20 per round-turn
- TOTAL COST (10 lots): (10 lots x 0.60) x $1 = $6 per side and $12 per round-turn
Insta.Raw:
- Spread per lot: 0.00 pips
- Commission (1 lot): $0.25 per side and $0.50 per round-turn
- Commission (10 lots): $2.50 per side and $5 per round-turn
- TOTAL COST (1 lot): 0.00 + $0.25 = $0.25 per side and $0.50 per round-turn
- TOTAL COST (10 lots): 0.00 + $2.50 = $2.50 per side and $5 per round-turn
As shown above, the costs of trading with the Insta.Raw account are significantly lower than those of the Insta.Standard account because the 0.00-pip spread means that the only cost is the commission. Moreover, InstaForex’s commission of $2.50 per side per 100,000 units is relatively low in the forex market, as many brokers charge a commission of $3.00 or $3.50 per side.
The following table compares Insta.Standard account spreads with the fixed and standard spreads of other popular online trading firms. Overall, the broker’s sub-one-pip spreads give it an advantage over many brokerages:
| Instrument | InstaForex fixed | AvaTrade fixed | FIBO Group*
| OANDA
| FP Markets
| |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | 0.60 | 0.80 | 2.00 | 0.80 | 1.00 | 1.40 | 1.00 | 1.20 | ||
| GBP/USD | 0.80 | 1.20 | 3.00 | 1.20 | 1.20 | 2.00 | 1.00 | 1.47 | ||

| NZD/USD | 0.60 | 1.40 | 4.00 | 1.60 | 1.40 | 1.70 | 1.00 | 1.50 | ||
*The fixed spreads apply to MT4 Fixed accounts; the average spreads apply to MT4 NDD No Commission accounts.
Commissions
As established, InstaForex has an unconventional approach to lot sizing, as its standard lots involve 10,000 currency units and have a pip value of $1. Below, you can view the commission amounts according to the lot size and number of lots involved in a given position:
| Lots | Pip Value | Commission Size |
|---|---|---|
| 0.01 InstaForex lot (100 currency units) | $0.01 | $0.005 |
| 0.1 InstaForex lot (1,000 currency units) | $0.10 | $0.05 |
| 1 InstaForex lot (10,000 currency units) | $1 | $0.50 |
| 10 InstaForex lots (100,000 currency units) | $10 | $5 |
Unlike the global branch, InstaForex Europe offers a range of commission amounts based on the commission-based account type:
| Account Type | Commission (Standard Lot) |
|---|---|
| ECN Mini | $3.50 ($7 round-turn) |
| ECN | $3 ($6 round-turn) |
| ECN Pro | $2.50 ($5 round-turn) |
| ECN VIP | $1.50 ($3 round-turn) |
Since InstaForex EU uses the typical lot-sizing convention, under which one standard lot equals 100,000 currency units, commission amounts for the ECN Mini account are adjusted accordingly:
- Standard lot (100,000 currency units): $3.50 ($7 round-turn)
- Mini lot (10,000 currency units): $0.35 ($0.70 round-turn)
- Micro lot (1,000 currency units): $0.035 ($0.07 round-turn)
Financing Charges
Positions retained through InstaForex’s rollover time may be subject to a debit or credit based on the instrument, trade direction, and prevailing swap schedule. InstaForex imposes triple swaps on Wednesdays.
Below, you can view the swap charges that applied on August 20, 2026:
| Currency Pair | Long Position | Short Position |
|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | -10.1 | 1.1 |
| GBP/USD | -5.9 | -3.6 |
| USD/JPY | -14.5 | -24.2 |
| USD/CHF | 4.9 | -14.6 |
| AUD/USD | -5.3 | -0.5 |
| USD/CAD | -2.7 | -7.7 |
| NZD/USD | -2.8 | -3.2 |
The broker also offers a swap-free account for Muslim clients. This account does not charge administration fees and instead waives all rollover costs for positions held open for up to seven days. Clients who exceed this seven-day threshold will be charged the swap fees that apply to non-Islamic accounts.
Deposit Fees
As established, InstaForex does not levy fees on deposit transactions. For further information on the broker’s deposit policy, see Deposit Methods.
Withdrawal Fees
The vast majority of withdrawal methods supported by InstaForex involve fees. Some are charged as percentages, while others are flat fees charged in USD. To learn more about the exact costs, supported base currencies, and processing times, see Withdrawal Methods.
Inactivity Fees
Traders who take prolonged breaks from trading or cease trading activity for other reasons are charged a $10 inactivity fee at InstaForex. This fee is charged once an account has been dormant for at least three months.
Overall on Fees
InstaForex offers a choice between spread-based and commission-based pricing. Both are relatively competitive in the context of the overall forex trading market, but commission-based accounts such as Insta.Zero and Insta.Raw are particularly cost-effective, given the low commission of $5 per round-turn per 100,000 currency units.
Swap-free accounts are available, ensuring that no overnight fees are charged during the first seven days a position is held past the daily rollover. Deposits are fee-free, while withdrawals typically involve a cost. Finally, the broker charges inactive clients for account dormancy.
Desktop Trading Platforms
InstaForex’s desktop offering centers on MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, with InstaForex-branded versions of both available for download on Windows computers. Traders may also download the MultiTerminal platform, which allows the simultaneous management of multiple trading accounts. Additionally, the broker offers two proprietary web trading platforms: IFXGear and IFXWeb.
InstaForex’s third-party platform selection is restricted to MetaTrader. At the time of writing, neither cTrader nor similar alternatives are supported by the broker. Clients should bear in mind that platform availability is region-specific. While the offshore brokerage welcomes MT4 and MT5 users alike, clients in Europe are restricted to MetaTrader 5.
MetaTrader 4
Officially launched in 2005, MT4 is one of the oldest and most widely used online trading platforms, particularly among those interested in forex and CFDs. It is available as a Windows desktop terminal and through web access. Its interface is relatively lightweight and intuitive, making it suitable for beginners.
Expert Advisors are one of the platform’s defining features. These programs are developed through MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL4) and enable algorithmic trading. However, MT4’s testing, depth-of-market, and multi-asset architecture are less developed than those of its successor, MT5. Moreover, the platform is not available through the InstaForex EU entity.
- Charting: Multiple chart types, nine standard timeframes, various drawing objects, and a library of built-in indicators are available.
- Automation: Expert Advisors and custom tools can be developed or installed using the MQL4 environment.
- Strategy Testing: MT4 offers a single-threaded strategy tester.
- Orders: Market, limit, stop, and trailing-stop functions are supported, subject to the broker’s contract rules.
- Account Access: Watchlists, account history, and one-click trading are integrated into the terminal.
MetaTrader 5
MetaQuotes released MetaTrader 5 in 2010 as a more modern successor to MetaTrader 4. The platform offers expanded charting capabilities, multithreaded backtesting, and the MQL5 automation environment. For traders based in Europe, MetaTrader 5 is the only downloadable software option available.
- Analysis: Twenty-one standard timeframes and an expanded set of analytical objects support more detailed chart analysis.
- Strategy Testing: The multithreaded backtester supports more advanced Expert Advisor optimization.
- Market Tools: Level II pricing with depth-of-market data, an economic calendar, and additional pending-order types are built into the platform.
- Programming: Automated strategies use MQL5 and are not directly interchangeable with MQL4 code.
Web Trading
Browser access allows traders to log in to their accounts without a local installation and provides core charting, order placement, and position-monitoring functions. At InstaForex, the IFXWeb platform allows clients to connect their MT4 and MT5 accounts to the web interface. The interface also provides immediate access to the Client Cabinet and deposit pages.
It offers three layouts: Classic, Dashboard, and Chart.
- Classic: The Classic layout presents an overview of asset lists, market trends, price volatility, and active trading positions.
- Dashboard: For real-time monitoring across multiple assets, the Dashboard view tracks small price movements for more than 12 assets simultaneously using tick charts.
- Chart: The Chart module provides tick-level data for detailed market analysis.
Apart from IFXWeb, traders also have the option of using IFXGear. This web platform offers similar features but has a more modern interface.
Mobile Trading Platforms
Mobile access is available through MetaTrader applications and InstaForex-branded mobile software. The InstaTrade: Invest & Trading app provides comprehensive account-management tools, live asset-price streams, full trade-execution functionality, and transaction history. The platform integrates demo, MT4, and MT5 accounts across nine timeframes. Users can evaluate market sentiment through asset buy-to-sell ratios, integrated financial analytics, and corporate news feeds. It can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store, where its name is simply InstaForex.

MT5 also features Level II pricing. However, backtesting is not supported.
Trading Instruments
InstaForex’s global library of derivatives encompasses over 340 instruments across various market categories. The vast majority of symbols are traded as CFDs, but futures contracts on EUR/USD, metals, energies, and soft commodities are also available.

The European branch offers a much larger catalog of 2,500+ symbols and adds ETFs to the product selection. However, as established, traders are more limited in terms of the leverage ratios they can use when trading these instruments.
Forex
Forex is one of the major instrument categories available at InstaForex. On the global website, traders will find over 60 major, minor, and exotic pairs. Spreads are instrument- and account-specific: trading EUR/USD with an Insta.Standard account involves a spread of 0.60 pips, while choosing Insta.Raw lowers the spread to 0.00 pips but adds a $0.50 commission per trade.
This pair, along with other major tickers, can be traded with leverage of up to 1:5000. In contrast to the offshore brokerage, the Cyprus-based firm has more than 110 pairs to choose from, but retail leverage is capped at 1:30.
Indices
Index CFDs provide exposure to the direction of major national and regional equity markets without ownership of the constituent shares. Global clients can use leverage of 1:100 when trading these instruments and can choose from indices including the UK 100, Euro 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and S&P 500. European clients have nearly 40 indices to choose from. However, retail leverage is lower, with caps of 1:20 and 1:10 imposed on major and minor indices, respectively.
Stock CFDs
Selected company shares can be traded as CFDs at InstaForex. This category also presents the strongest contrast between the global and European offerings. The BVI entity offers just over 200 stock CFDs and covers major companies such as Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft, while the CySEC-registered entity has a catalog spanning more than 1,050 share CFDs. The former grants access to leverage of 1:10 when trading stock CFDs, while the latter offers leverage of up to 1:5.
Traders should keep in mind that a long CFD position does not provide voting rights or direct legal ownership, although cash adjustments may reflect corporate actions. These contracts are designed for leveraged price speculation rather than portfolio custody.
Commodities and Metals
Precious metals, energy products, and other commodity-linked contracts broaden the range of trading instruments. Metals such as gold and platinum can be traded through CFDs and futures, while contracts involving energy products such as Brent crude oil and natural gas are available only as CFDs. Soft commodities, agricultural products, and livestock are available through InstaForex’s selection of futures contracts.
Leverage ratios differ by instrument:
- Metals: 1:1000
- Energies: 1:1 (no leverage)
- Soft commodities: 1:1 (no leverage)
As with other market categories, the EU brokerage offers much lower leverage ratios to commodity traders. Gold traders have access to ratios of up to 1:20, while users trading other commodities are restricted to maximum leverage of 1:5.
Cryptocurrencies
Crypto CFDs are another family of instruments available to InstaForex traders. Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Polkadot, and Ethereum can be traded through CFDs, with each cryptocurrency traded against the US dollar.
These contracts provide leveraged exposure to price movements without transferring coins to an external wallet. European retail leverage is capped at 1:2, while offshore leverage is substantially higher at 1:500.
ETFs
Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) track specific indices, sectors, commodities, or baskets of assets. Although ETFs are not available through the BVI entity, the European branch offers a range of exchange-traded funds involving cryptocurrencies, stocks, and other products. Examples include the ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF and the JPMorgan Sustainable Infrastructure ETF. A leverage limit of 1:5 applies.
What You Cannot Trade
The core offering does not provide conventional ownership and custody of a broad portfolio of real shares, bonds, or investment funds. Exchange-listed options are not a central part of the published retail offering. Although exchange-traded funds are available to European clients, this instrument type is absent from the BVI-based entity’s selection.
Trade Execution
InstaForex’s global entity offers instant execution with fixed spreads, along with market execution featuring floating spreads. Based on testing, the offshore InstaForex brokerage has an average execution speed of around 100 milliseconds. In contrast, the EU offering consists solely of variable-spread pricing provided through an Electronic Communication Network (ECN) execution model. Its ECN Pro, ECN VIP, and MT5 accounts have an execution speed of 0.1 seconds.
Orders may experience slippage, requotes, or rejection when the requested price is unavailable, particularly during volatile or illiquid periods. Stop-loss orders are not guaranteed at either entity.
Virtual private server access is available, offering 24/7 uptime and a connection speed of 1 Gbit/s. Traders can choose from three plans:
| Characteristic | VPS 1024 | VPS 2048 | VPS 3072 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disk Space | 15 GB SSD/NVMe | 20 GB SSD/NVMe | 30 GB SSD/NVMe |
| RAM | 1,024 MB | 2,048 MB | 3,072 MB |

The monthly fee depends on both the VPS plan and the customer’s account balance. Generally, the higher the balance, the lower the cost of the VPS service:

Deposits
Funding methods depend on the client’s country, account currency, and legal entity. The international cabinet supports bank cards, bank transfers, electronic wallets, selected local payment methods, and cryptocurrency transfers. European clients receive a narrower selection of approved payment solutions.
USD, EUR, and RUB are the principal global account currencies, but the exact currencies supported for deposits vary according to the payment solution. Bank cards and certain digital wallets, including Neteller and Skrill, support USD and EUR transactions, while bank wires are processed in EUR. Methods such as PayCo and cryptocurrencies are available only in USD. Local bank transfers have a wider range of supported currencies, including, but not limited to, IDR, MYR, THB, and VND.

Processing times vary substantially by method. Some options are processed within several hours or no more than 24 hours, while others take up to six business days. Additionally, global clients are charged withdrawal fees regardless of the option they choose. Bank card withdrawals through Visa and Mastercard, for instance, cost 2.5% plus a fixed fee of $3.50 or €3.50. Tether is the only fee-free option.

In contrast to the offshore entity, InstaForex EU offers fee-free Visa and Mastercard deposits. However, withdrawal requests involving bank transfers, Neteller, Skrill, and Rapid Transfer incur fees.

InstaForex offers various learning materials to its clients, including introductory articles, a forex course, platform guidance, videos, and a glossary. Security and Money Protection
As mandated by the financial regulators of the British Virgin Islands and Cyprus, InstaForex segregates client funds in secure bank accounts that are separate from the company’s operating funds. Instant Trading EU Ltd extends client protection by implementing lower leverage limits and offering negative balance protection to retail traders. Additionally, non-professional traders are eligible for compensation through the Investor Compensation Fund of Cyprus, which can cover claims of up to €20,000 if the firm cannot meet its obligations.
The BVI-regulated entity does not provide access to the Cyprus compensation scheme. Higher offshore leverage of up to 1:5000 also increases the speed at which margin can be depleted. As established, derivatives traders registered with the BVI entity are not entitled to negative balance protection either.
The websites and client areas use HTTPS and Secure Socket Layer technology to protect client data. Traders can review their login history and enable two-factor authentication, which allows them to set up a personal identification number through Google Authenticator.
Segregation and cybersecurity controls protect against different risks. Neither prevents losses caused by adverse market movements, slippage, leverage, or an unsuitable trading strategy.
Conclusion and Overall Rating
InstaForex is generally suitable for MetaTrader users, traders on a budget who value low deposit requirements and narrow spreads, and clients interested in cent accounts. ForexCopy and PAMM services also make InstaForex an option for traders seeking social-trading capabilities.
The international operation provides broad currency coverage, flexible account formats, and leverage of up to 1:5000, but it is licensed by the offshore BVI FSC financial regulator. This means weaker client protections, as global clients are not entitled to negative balance protection, and their funds are not protected through compensation schemes. Eligible EEA clients, meanwhile, trade with a CySEC-licensed investment firm but cannot trade with leverage above 1:30 unless they obtain professional status. Both entities offer low forex spreads, with commission-based accounts featuring spreads from 0.00 pips.
Overall, InstaForex has a capable platform and research offering, but its safety and commercial value depend heavily on the client’s jurisdiction and account selection. Trading CFDs and other leveraged derivatives involves a high risk of loss. This review provides general information, not investment advice or a personal recommendation.
